Once Addicted to the World, now Addicted to the Word! For anyone who has experienced any type of addiction, or even if you haven’t, it has been put on my heart to share my testimony with you all. I’m 28 now, but when I was 22, I was buying a house, had 2 cars paid for, a bunch of tools, engaged to be married, but not once through all of these that He gave me, did I take the time to stop and thank Him for any of it. I had been experimenting with crystal meth for quite some time but thought that I had it under my control because it never came before bills or groceries. I had bought some contaminated stuff, which is all contaminated, and was hurting like never before from the effects of the drug, so I decided that an acquaintance’s offer of morphine intravenously (shooting it up) taking all of my pain away, was a great idea. Well, nevertheless, I “woke up” 2 years later from this “fog” I had surrounded myself with, only to find that I had lost everything. My Birthmother Was Raped, but God Had A Plan For Us Both Seven years ago while on a trip home to visit my parents, I had the privilege to take a four-hour drive and meet a woman who I have come to know and admire for her selfless love, her strength, and her act of courage in the middle of adversity — my birthmother. Growing up, I always knew I was an adopted child. My parents did not keep it a secret and they loved me no matter if I was born into the family or adopted. My parents told me growing up that when I reached the age of 18 if I wanted to search for my birth parents, they would help me do it. For many years, I dealt with some medical issues and had a lot of questions which adoptees think about. My adoption was “closed,” but in January of 2008, I decided to get my non-ID information. The day finally came when the packet arrived in the mail. I was nervous and excited all at the same time. I waited until my husband got home from work to open it.
