I was an atheist until late into my freshman year of high school. I had been doing drugs, drinking, anything to get away from my problems at home, and the… I was an atheist until late into my freshman year of high school. I had been doing drugs, drinking, anything to get away from my problems at home, and the depression I found out about later on. Things in my life were crashing down pretty quickly. I had hit a very low point in my life and was ready to give up when God became very real to me, telling me things were going to be ok, and that He was there. It was pretty strange considering the God I didn’t believe in became the one thing I could trust in at that moment. God helped me through that spell, and from then on, I couldn’t escape the fact that there was something better. But hey, I tried. Slowly but surely, I started to drift away from God, His plans, His will, His faithfulness. Moment by moment, my small decisions and actions turned me back to old ways. This is my testimony but before I start, I feel it’s more important to give you some insight into my childhood so that you can be able to understand some… This is my testimony but before I start, I feel it’s more important to give you some insight into my childhood so that you can be able to understand some of the decisions I made and tasks I took later on in my life. Every decision and task, I have made or taken respectively during my lifetime, good and bad, is what has brought me to who I am today. I was born to a Moslem mother and a catholic father and here in Uganda, usually children follow their father’s region, so for that reason, I and my siblings were raised as Catholics. We went to church basically on Easter Sundays and Christmas. I was brought up knowing God but missing out on the whole idea of who Jesus was; accepting him as my personal Saviour and the fact that he died on the cross for my sins. Being the firstborn, I enjoyed special privileges from day one till I was 4 years old compared to my six siblings because my parents did whatever was necessary so that I could enjoy a happy life.
