God Saved Me From The Enemy

God Saved Me From The Enemy

Every day I would pass an old classmate on the way home from work. One day, I took him home in my car. We began recapping the good old days at school and felt like nothing had changed with time. The conversations kept flowing whenever we would talk. We realized that we had similar tastes in music, food, hobbies, and more. Eventually, we had become more than friends and a relationship started to develop. However, one night I went to sleep, and I saw a huge snake like a boa constrictor slithering on my body. It felt real, but when I woke up, I realized that it was just a dream. Not giving it any attention, I continued with the relationship. Another day, I fell asleep and once again felt the snake slithering around my body. I knew it was a sign that an enemy was near. I didn’t associate it with my boyfriend until my Mom told me that a neighbor had told her that the boy was trouble. I didn’t ask him any questions and I didn’t tell him what my Mom had shared with me instead I ended the relationship with him, as I was already getting the signs from God that he was an enemy. Immediately, the snake dreams stopped. Years later, while talking to the boy’s

God Protected Me During The Bomb Blast

God Protected Me During The Bomb Blast

A team of Americans debated where to watch the World Cup final. In the end, they settled for Ethiopian Village, where they found themselves at the centre of the bomb blast. Francis Mugoga, who was their host and guide, narrates how it all started and ended in Mulago and IHK hospitals. On July 11, I took four American ladies (Joanne, Pam, Lori and Emily) to Bwaise Pentecostal Church, where they joined two young American men (Kris and Thomas) to sing at the church. We attended the 8:00 am service and part of the 10:00 am one, after which we headed to town for lunch, relaxed and then looked for a place where we would have dinner and watch the World Cup final. From Bwaise, we headed to the I Love New York restaurant in Garden City for lunch. We then went to Centenary Park where we swam, had a massage, reflexology and relaxed. At around 5:00 pm, we were joined by Pastor Peter Mutabazi of Bwaise Pentecostal Church. We then debated where we would go for the final World Cup game. We had three places to choose from: UBC grounds, the Kyadondo Rugby Club and Ethiopian Village Restaurant. The team wanted a place that would have an exciting crowd. At first, Ethiopian Village was eliminated because members did not think

How Toothache Led Me Back To Christ

How Toothache Led Me Back To Christ

In August of 1983, I asked Jesus into my heart following an evangelistic crusade which visited my hometown of Eden and for years afterwards, I attended various churches which reassured me I was saved. For many years I lived a selfish and reckless life. Beginning in high school, during my time in the military and for the years that followed. All this time thinking that if something were to happen to me I would be “OK”. After all, I had asked Jesus into my heart, right? I was saved, or so I thought. I had done some good for others during my life, but for the most part, it was always about me! That is until a trip I took halfway around the world to the island of Mindanao in 2011. My primary reason for visiting Mindanao was a simple toothache. I had been talking online with my friend for over a year and had always wanted to visit, but the expense of the trip was too much for my budget. An off-and-on toothache finally forced me to go to the dentist where I learned that I was going to need to get not just one, but two root canals and crowns. One of course for the tooth that was bothering me and also one for a tooth on the
