A Christian Testimony: How the Journey Prepared My Faith for My Son’s Hospitalisation

I was asked by my brother-in-law, Austan if I wanted to join the Journey. I didn’t know what to expect, but I attended anyway. My first thought was that it was another Bible study, but it wasn’t. It was more about having an intimate, loving personal relationship with God. I never really thought much about my relationship with God until joining the Journey.

It made me question my relationship with God in general. I always went to God in tough times, for a better outcome of a situation, or if I needed something. But God doesn’t just want me to come to him in times of trouble or need but rather in all situations, whether it be good or bad. He wants me to abide in Him as much as He abides in me!

During the journey, my wife and I welcomed a son, which was the best thing that has happened to us; however, a week later, he was rushed to the hospital, where he spent the next month of his life. These were very trying times, but I don’t think I could have gotten through this situation if it weren’t for the strength and comfort God had given me. In a way, I feel as though the Journey had equipped me for the storm I was in, because this period was the most I’d ever come to God in prayer and for guidance, and He was always there for me!
