Though I was born into a Christian family, I had no deep relationship with Jesus. I never tried to know God and his never-ending love till before four years. I started to feel an emptiness in my heart. During that time, I had a difficult situation. Doctors told me that I had a growth in my breast and they advised me for an operation. I never knew God was using that occasion to turn me towards him. At that time, some people from a prayer group came and prayed for me. I wondered if God showed his mercy on me and blessed me with complete healing from my disease. Blessed be the name of the Lord!! THREE marriages ended in divorce because of my alcohol addiction, I got hit by a car crossing the road drunk and almost died. That did not stop me from drinking. I was sleeping at 11:00 pm peacefully, the cough from nowhere started seriously, threatening life and sleep, I remembered a scripture, whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved, I began praying in Jesus’s name commanding the cough to stop, immediately, there was calm, and I was restored to my normal state of sleep and life, hallelujah. I am a 27-year-old medical doctor practising in Abuja, Nigeria. About two years ago, while having an emergency surgery for an HIV-infected patient, his blood spilt into my eyes, placing me at risk of infection. Several other times in the course of my work, I have been exposed to the infected blood of HIV patients. I never had the guts to test myself, because prior to my becoming born again, I had unprotected sexual intercourse. I committed my life to Christ sometime around July this year (2010). The Holy Spirit spoke to me and remembering Philippians 4:13 I feared not (because I knew I can do all things through Christ), I went for the test and the result as my faithful God has promised the result was negative…. I also want to thank him for his divine protection over me, my mother and my family, he has been the father for the ‘fatherless’. All glory and honour be unto his name.
