I want to give this testimony to the glory of God, my Shepherd, my Glory and the Lifter up of my head. I was among those who came out when Pastor talked about giving towards the building project last year, and then another Pastor joined him to call
for people who could give a N1 million or more.
My first testimony is that in less than four years in business, a million naira is no longer a big deal to me. So, when I heard that call, I told my wife, “I can give a million naira.” I decided to pledge where I was on my seat. But she encouraged me to go out, which I did.
Secondly, at the time I came out to make that pledge, I was heavily in debt as we had lots of receivables outside that had not been paid. Our biggest creditor was a consultant and brother of a federal minister on whose recommendation we became service providers to the minister. And God has so much given us favour in the eyes of the minister that they
“swear by us.”
After the pledge, some of our receivables were paid such that we were able to clear about 92% of our debt. And when I discussed with our biggest creditor to give us some time to settle his own chunk of our debts, he said we were not owing him a dime, and all the money he loaned us during our time of need, he did for God and in appreciation of the good
work we are doing for his sister. Thus, he wrote off a debt of N2.2million plus in one fell swoop!
Not long afterward, God opened another door and I was able to purchase some acres of land at an unbelievable price, which I hope to use for agricultural project. In fact, God also gave us another job worth millions recently from which I was about to purchase some more acres of land. But the Holy Spirit reminded me of my pledge. So I had to put that on hold and
focus on redeeming the pledge.
Another testimony is that the research work we do for the minister has now become our biggest project. And I often joke with my colleagues and family that the project is to us what crude oil is to Nigeria, as its proceeds are the benchmark of most of our planning and budgeting. I also always tell my people that we need to put necessary structures in place while we
still have the job so as to keep us going after our client is no longer a minister.
As God would have it, I was invited to a function of the ministry in Abuja some weeks ago. I was also taken to meet the Permanent Secretary of the ministry about our outstanding payments. In the course of my short
meeting with the Perm Sec, she assured that we would soon be paid our money. She also said they are working on formalising our engagement with the ministry, such that, even after this government is no more and our client is no more the minister, we will still be offering the same services to the ministry and whoever becomes minister. Thus, the LORD gave us a
foothold in that frontline ministry in this country. Supernatural favour!
The irony of it all is that, judging by the consumption pattern of Nigerians, my line of business is not considered lucrative. But I have realised long ago that is the area God has endowed me with skills, and He has made that skill in my hand the rod of Aaron that buds.
Lastly, when I finally decided to close my eyes and pay this N1million pledge that has attracted us so many favours even before paying it, so I can then do a post-mortem on what is remaining in our account; a client reached out to me the Tuesday before the last Anointing Service about a job he wanted us to do urgently for him. And without discussing price, he
said he will be paying a million naira into our account so that we could get on it immediately. I received the alert of his deposit before heading to the Anointing Service.
I am grateful to God for the privilege to pledge and redeem it, and the greater privilege of being able to give toward His work. The amazing thing is that before I even redeem the pledge, He has already made provision to replenish us, in addition to all the ones He has done before.
Indeed my testimonies are in millions. And I am convinced that this is the beginning of my giving millions to further the work of God and the gospel and of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
